Spirituality in Landscape is a theme which continues to spearhead Rita's work. Two particular events during 2007 focused on work as a practical statement of Christian values.
First was a contribution to the "Stop the Traffik" initiative; working with the local Churches in the fight against people trafficking. Her task was to produce artwork highlighting the plight of an estimated 1.2 million children trafficked each year and to challenge the viewers to action.
Secondly, she was involved in an exhibition, "Creativity and Soul" at Christ the Cornerstone, Milton Keynes, with the Society for Religious Artists. This was a stunning, multi-faith contribution of paintings and sculptures.
Through this Rita has created a dynamic of her own beliefs, attempting interplay between natural landscape and the viewer.
This year she is confident there will be a wider emphasis on nature the sublime as well as the spiritual.
